What is Home Health Care?

Home health care is skilled medical care provided in the comfort of a patient’s home. Through a physician referral, patients receive care from licensed professionals such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other clinical specialists.
Home health care can support recovery after an illness, surgery or hospitalization, help manage chronic or complex health conditions and provide the skilled care individuals need to remain safely and independently at home.
