Ongoing Bereavement Support for Families

Grief is deeply personal. It can affect individuals physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually, and it unfolds differently for every family.
Concordia-IRMC VNA provides compassionate bereavement support for families whose loved one was served by our hospice program, for at least one year following the passing. Our team offers guidance, connection and meaningful resources to help families navigate life in the months that follow.
Bereavement support may include:
- Individual bereavement counseling
- Family counseling and guidance
- Support groups for adults and families
- Ongoing follow-up and supportive communication
- Assistance processing the many changes that can accompany loss

Community Remembrance: Hope Takes Flight
Each year, Concordia-IRMC VNA hosts Hope Takes Flight, an annual butterfly release event honoring and remembering loved ones.
This community gathering is open to all – not only families served by Concordia-IRMC VNA hospice. Individuals and families throughout Indiana County and surrounding communities are invited to participate in this meaningful moment of reflection and hope.
Families gather to release butterflies as a symbol of remembrance, renewal and continuing connection. The event offers comfort, fellowship and the reassurance that support continues beyond hospice care.
