Compassionate Support Through Grief and Loss

Grief is a deeply personal journey, and no one should have to walk through it alone.
The Bereavement Team at Good Samaritan Hospice provides compassionate support, encouragement and resources for individuals and families coping with loss, anticipatory grief and life transitions related to serious illness. Rooted in Concordia’s mission of faith-guided care, our bereavement program offers meaningful connection and ongoing support during difficult seasons of life.
Bereavement services are available free of charge to families served by Good Samaritan Hospice, as well as community members seeking grief support — including individuals whose loved one was not enrolled in hospice care.

- In-person and virtual grief support groups
- Workshops designed to support individuals coping with grief and loss

Youth Bereavement Care
Children, teens and young adults often experience grief differently than adults. Good Samaritan Hospice provides specialized youth bereavement care through Hope’s Road, a dedicated program designed to help young individuals navigate loss, express emotions and build healthy coping skills in a supportive environment.
Through age-appropriate activities, educational resources, grief support events and individualized guidance, Hope’s Road helps children, teens and families find connection, encouragement and hope throughout the grieving process. While Hope’s Road programming is rooted in the Christian faith and includes prayer, it is open to all faiths and backgrounds.
Services are available free of charge and are open to families throughout the community, regardless of whether a loved one received hospice services from Good Samaritan Hospice.
Remembrance and Community Events
Throughout the year, Good Samaritan Hospice offers remembrance gatherings, grief workshops and community events that provide opportunities for reflection, healing and connection.
Our annual Butterfly Release offers individuals and families a meaningful way to honor and celebrate the life of a loved one. Open to the community, this special gathering brings people together in a shared moment of remembrance, connection and hope.
Additional community events and holiday grief workshops throughout the year help individuals and families navigate grief during meaningful seasons, anniversaries and milestones while finding encouragement alongside others experiencing similar journeys.

Spiritual Care and Faith-Based Encouragement
For individuals and families who desire additional faith-guided support, spiritual care is available as part of bereavement services.
Spiritual support may include prayer, reflective conversation and compassionate listening offered with deep respect for each person’s beliefs, traditions and personal preferences.
As a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Good Samaritan Hospice approaches bereavement care with compassion, dignity and a commitment to caring for the whole person.
We’re Here to Walk Alongside You
Whether you are coping with a recent loss, supporting a grieving loved one or preparing for the changes that come with serious illness, the Bereavement Team at Good Samaritan Hospice is here to help.
Support, encouragement and compassionate connection are only a conversation away.
