In-Home Hospice
Hospice care is "comfort care" when a cure is no longer probable. It provides comfort through pain control and symptom management while offering emotional, social and spiritual support for the patient and family, individually and as a unit. For most families, when the option of curative treatment is no longer beneficial, the following weeks or months can be overwhelming for many reasons. With Good Samaritan Hospice, you and your loved ones don't have to face it alone. At Good Samaritan Hospice, family members are an equally important part of the caregiving process. Our goal is to support you, emotionally and physically, so that your health is not also compromised.

Spiritual Care
We welcome all faiths and work to ensure that patients and their loved ones receive the spiritual support they need. A spiritual care team member contacts the patient upon request and schedules an in-home visitation with a professional pastoral caregiver of any denomination. Our Chaplain also coordinates bereavement support groups that present a Christ-centered perspective on the grief process. These groups, offered at various times and locations, are open to any individual who has experienced a loss, even if they have no ties to Good Samaritan Hospice.

Locations we Serve
While we have several inpatient hospice locations, the vast majority of hospice patients are cared for in their home setting. We've served thousands of people in western Pennsylvania in their very own homes, and we continue to expand our In-Home Hospice service area. If you don’t see your area covered, please call us at 724-933-8888 to see if we are currently serving your neighborhood.
Bereavement Program
Good Samaritan Hospice’s (GSH) Bereavement Service team supports those who are grieving by providing connective programs and services for up to 13 months after the death of your loved one. Grief can be an experience that feels very lonely, but with our assistance it is a journey that you do not have to walk alone.
