Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia, will host a free Youth Bereavement Care event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, in the activity room at its Middlesex Township office, 116 Browns Hill Rd., Valencia, PA 16059.
“Grounding in Grief” will focus on comforting coping skills and allow youth to connect to one another in an open space to talk about the grieving process.
The group is open to bereaved youth up to age 21. A caregiver must accompany all youths. Attendees will learn grounding techniques and mindfulness to calm the mind and body.
The day will include outdoor activities and a coping flower craft. If inclement weather occurs, activities will shift inside.
Adults can relax and unwind in an adult breakout session with support from a bereavement coordinator. Lunch will be provided for all guests.
Registration is required by Friday, May 31.
