Ziggy Zaggy, Ziggy Zaggy, Oi Oi Oi! This traditional German toast to health and well-being was heard on more than one occasion on October 6, as over 1,600 guests enjoyed the festivities at the annual Concordia at Cabot Oktoberfest this year! (Read more for photos)
Despite reports of rain coming down in nearly every neighboring community, Concordia at Cabot somehow stayed dry for the entire event. There was a little mud in the kids area, but that didn’t stop the 400 children from enjoying the free activities – including pumpkin painting, pony rides, a bouncy castle, hayrides and MUCH more. We think their parents enjoyed the free food vouchers for kids as well!
The authentic German food, prepared by our very own chefs and food service staff, was a huge hit, as usual, and The Mikey Dee Polka Band entertained all evening with all the polka classics. The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display by Pyrotecnico! Special thanks to our friends who generously sponsored the fireworks display:
Special thanks also goes out to everyone who attended, the staff who worked their tails off and the 70+ volunteers who donated their time on a Saturday evening!
Below are some pictures from the event (click the photos to enlarge). Feel free to leave a comment below, letting us know what you enjoyed! A bunch of these pictures are also on the Concordia Facebook page, so be sure to check those out too (while you’re there, be sure to Like our page!).
