The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals. Let us introduce you to Michelle Moan!

Michelle joined the Concordia family in November of 2010 as an Activity Director for Concordia of Wexford. At the time of her hire, the Wexford senior community was owned and operated by a different agency. A couple of years later, Concordia purchased the assisted living facility and Michelle immediately felt at home.

“I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful a company Concordia was, and that I was asked to continue in my role as Activity Director.”

In addition to her role as Activity Director, Michelle is also Concordia of Wexford’s Volunteer Coordinator.

“While I was hired as the Activity Director, I have loved developing my role as a Volunteer Coordinator. I have a large group of volunteers who are wonderful to our department and to all of our residents.”

Michelle describes Concordia as “caring” and told us a little bit about her career path and what she loves the most about her profession.

“I fell into this specific healthcare career when I started at an adult daycare program 20 years ago. For the first time ever, I felt like I was making a difference and that this was truly what I was meant to do. I am so blessed for that opportunity and from there was able to pursue my goal of becoming an Activity Director.”

She continued, “The aspects I love most about my career are hearing stories from the residents about their past, and also getting to experience new adventures with them. It’s fun to have fun with them!”

Michelle strives to be the best version of herself every day for the residents she serves.

“I try each day to be the best Activity Director and friend to my residents. I think just them knowing you care and are there for them is the best way to serve them. Each work day I try to physically take the time to talk to each of my residents and make sure they are okay or find out if they need anything.”

Outside of Concordia, you’re likely to find Michelle with her husband and daughter – who is very active in school academia, athletics and musicals – “she keeps my husband and I very busy!” The family also enjoys volunteering and helping out at their church.
Michelle told us she is motivated to succeed by her family and God.

“Family and God keep me motivated and grounded. I am so blessed with a wonderful family, and I don’t feel like my job is a job – it is like I get to spend my days with extended family!”
