My Concordia Career: Krista Malobicky’s Story

The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals. Let us introduce you to Krista Malobicky!

Krista began her Concordia career in September of 2009 as a field RN for Concordia Visiting Nurses. In 2016, Krista accepted a Clinical Supervisor position in the Cabot office and within two years was promoted to a Clinical Manager. In August of 2018, Krista was named the Cabot Branch Manager and oversees the Cabot, Monroeville, and New Castle service territories and clinicians.

When we asked Krista to sum up Concordia in one word, she said “employee-centric”:

“Concordia has excellent tuition reimbursement options, a great retirement plan, and also encourages employees to pursue professional growth, not to mention all of the activities that they do throughout the year for the employees!”

Krista had the following to say when we asked her why she chooses to work for Concordia:

“I shadowed with a nurse in the field while in nursing school and just knew that home health would be something I’d like to do. In the field, I loved the flexibility of the schedule and seeing the patients in their own environment.”

She continued, “Aside from my personal passion for home health, Concordia has shown me time and time again that they value their employees. That is something you don’t come by as often as you should with employers and it really sets us apart. I am also appreciative of being a part of an organization that gives back to the community.”

Her favorite Concordia memories are the various employee events we hold, like the annual Christmas party, where she gets to spend time with her co-workers.

Krista spends much of her time outside of Concordia with her husband, children, and dogs. Her daughter plays softball in the Spring and Fall and the family spends a lot of time at her practices and games.

Prior to the birth of her 2-year-old son, Krista enjoyed horseback riding but she said it’s hard to fit that in now with a growing family! Family is most important to Krista and she enjoys doing anything to that equates to quality time spent with them all.

We asked Krista what motivates her to succeed and she provided an inspirational answer:

“I enjoy helping people so that is a great motivator when you’re in a management position. I like the challenge of helping people succeed and meet their goals. I also enjoy learning new things and working on my own personal and professional development. I’m grateful that I’m in a position that enables me to help others grow, helps me grow, and also provides a good example to my children that will hopefully instill a good work ethic into them.”
