The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals. Let us introduce you to Kim Stiles!
Kim is a Senior Staff Accountant for Concordia Community Support Services (the management company that oversees Concordia Visiting Nurses, Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Private Care and Concordia Hospice of Washington). She began her Concordia career in April of 2011 as a Staff Accountant for Concordia Visiting Nurses.
Her role within our community-based finance team has developed over the years and she has enjoyed cross training opportunities with many departments as they have widened the scope of her career.
Kim describes Concordia as a “team” and further explained why.
“My co-workers and I have been through a lot of life events together – marriages, births, passing of family members, building new homes and more,” she said. “Supporting each other through these events has made my department and our team stronger. We have each other’s backs and work together to make sure our responsibilities to Concordia are carried out accurately and efficiently.”
She continued, “The idea of ‘team’ also relates to my career development with Concordia. I began my career as a Staff Accountant and was promoted to Senior Staff Accountant. During my professional growth I was able to interact and work with other departments including Accounts Receivable, Human Resources and Payroll. I have also been a part of various software implementation teams and have experienced the agency’s evolution as a team in terms of eliminating paper and shifting to electronic record keeping.”
Kim told us she first started with Concordia because it was close to home; however, while she still enjoys the office location, she has stayed because of the positive work environment and the ethically-sound nature of our organization. Her favorite memory so far has been attending the annual Christmas party!
“I enjoy going to the Christmas party even though I don’t dance! It’s great to be able to dress up, have a good dinner and leave with a cash prize!”
Outside of Concordia, Kim enjoys quality time spent with her husband, Kevin, and their two children. She moved from full-time to part-time after the birth of her daughter and told us she was blessed by the accommodation that allowed her to have extra time with her family.
As we would hope any great accountant would tell us, it’s the taxes that keeps Kim motivated to succeed!
“I really love what I do at Concordia. My responsibilities have shifted over the years as the agency as grown. I have enjoyed the challenge to learn new tasks. Not too many people can say they get excited about preparing tax returns so the fact that I do is what keeps me going!”
