The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals. Let us introduce you to Ginene Buss!
Ginene joined the Concordia family in April of 2019 as Concordia Private Care’s Private Duty Manager, though that position was not what she originally applied for.
“I was working in HR at a retail facility when I lost my job due to corporate downsizing. I began to apply for positions via Indeed and actually applied at Concordia for a payroll position. After the interview, our CFO asked me if I would be interested in interviewing for the Private Duty Manager position and the rest is history!”
She told us she was grateful for the opportunity and Concordia’s willingness to provide her with a new career experience.
“Most of my experience was in HR and leadership, not at all in home care. However, in this role, I have been able to engage better with my staff because of my background. With most of them in the field (Concordia Private Care’s personal care aides make visits to our clients in the comfort of their own home), it has opened opportunities for out-of-the-box ideas.”
Ginene describes Concordia as historical (“I love history and there is a lot of it here!”) and told us why she chooses to work for our organization.
“I work for Concordia because of the organization’s involvement in our communities, the career opportunities for growth and the new career experience they were able to provide me. We have many great benefits and I especially love our 403(b) retirement plan – as I get older, I appreciate this benefit more and more!”
She also enjoys her co-workers and getting to know them better. Her favorite Concordia event to date has been the annual Christmas party because the event gives her a chance to mingle with her co-workers outside of the office and visit with her staff who she doesn’t often see due to Concordia Private Care’s mobile workforce.
Ginene spends her time outside of Concordia with her family, boyfriend and fur-kid!
“I am a history nerd so I enjoy traveling and visiting historical places. My boyfriend and I love going to museums and geocaching. I spend time with my parents and, of course, I spend most of my time with my dachshund, Max.”
Ginene told us she best serves her clients and staff by listening to them and providing honest feedback. She is also a goal setter and told us that this habit gives her motivation to succeed!
