My Concordia Career: Erica McGuire’s Story

The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals. Let us introduce you to Erica McGuire!

Erica began her Concordia career in July of 2011 as a Residential Aide at Concordia at Rebecca Residence. While there, Concordia assisted Erica with obtaining her Certified Nursing Assistant credentials and she transitioned to our skilled unit. Erica later transferred to Concordia of the South Hills (CSH) and continued pursing higher education. She earned her Registered Nurse degree and is currently the Clinical Nurse Manager for CSH.

When we asked why she chooses to work for Concordia, Erica said the following:

“I believe in the Vision of Concordia and also their promise to “put our faith in caring.” I believe we are all placed on earth for specific reasons and that mine is to help people. I enjoy my job and the people who I am surrounded by – co-workers and residents alike. I believe that we sincerely make a difference in the people’s lives who we serve and I love being a part of that.”

Erica’s favorite Concordia memory was when she was working as a C.N.A. for Rebecca Residence:

“When I was a C.N.A. and expecting my third child, the wonderful team I worked with got together and threw me a surprise baby shower. It was so thoughtful, and very touching – something I will never forget.”

Erica spends her free time with her three children! She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, and also takes time to relax by reading and listening to music.

She said that she is motivated to succeed by her curiosity and inquisitive disposition:

“I am a naturally inquisitive person and I enjoy learning new learning new things. I find challenges exciting and continue to want to learn more and more every day!”
