We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended or assisted with our first-ever Good Samaritan Hospice Butterfly Release on Sunday, August 27! A sunny afternoon made for a beautiful backdrop as we gathered with our Good Samaritan Hospice families and friends to remember and celebrate the lives of those we love.
More than 230 people participated in the event, which was held at the Four Seasons Pavilion at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver, PA. The program began with opening remarks from Good Samaritan Hospice Executive Director Judy Connelly , followed by poems and songs by performers, as well as attendees. A bagpipe postlude serenaded the butterflies into the sky to end the event – a representation of “letting go” their loved ones into the hands of God.
All proceeds benefitted Good Samaritan Hospice and our mission of caring for those facing a life-limiting illness or preparing to pass into God’s Glory. Many hundreds of individuals and their families are touched each year by the physical, emotional and spiritual end-of-life care Good Samaritan Hospice provides. We help patients make choices about their care and provide support for friends and families who are grieving.
Special thanks goes out to our volunteers, whose hearts make this event that much more special and welcoming. Lastly, we thank our generous sponsors for their support!
