Happy National Nursing Home Week - A Letter From the President

May 13, 2014

The following is a letter from Concordia Lutheran Ministries President and CEO Keith Frndak to Concordia's employees. While the letter addresses the staff specifically, we thought it would be a great way to recognize National Nursing Home Week here on the Concordia Blog.

So take a look, and feel free to leave a comment below. Oh, and Happy National Nursing Home Week!

Dear friends,

Every year around National Nursing Home Week, I ask myself why so many people choose Concordia for their senior- and health care needs. And the thing I always go back to is right in front of me: you; the hundreds of direct caregivers and the many “unsung heroes” in the background. You are why people entrust themselves and their loved ones to our care.

KEF 2-14 editThere are so many good things I can point to when I talk about the employees at Concordia; your skill, your compassion, your dependability, your passion… But I think when we get to the heart of the matter, it’s how you treat our patients and residents like family. It’s your commitment to the well being of those in our care ~ and ultimately, our mission statement.

To serve our aging community with a continuum of high quality caregiving options, provided in a Christian environment, and to serve those with limited funds to the best of our ability.

At times like this, I can’t help but think about Colossians 3:23-24 – “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

Let this continue to be what drives us all in this important ministry ~ to serve those in our care for the purpose of bringing glory to God.

Thank you for all you do, during Employee Appreciation Week and every other day. May God continue to bless our efforts.

Keith Frndak
President & CEO
