Great Times at the 2016 Concordia Summer Festival | Photos and Video

Another Concordia Summer Festival is in the books, and we’re happy to announce it was another great one! (Read more for pictures and video)

The Rick Farinelli Big Band kicked things off with an excellent show, followed by a set of covers by Concordia employees/musicians Robin Crissman and Roberta Breninghouse. The 3 p.m. worship service was highlighted by an outstanding sermon from Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus, speaker emeritus of The Lutheran Hour radio program. The entertainment was rounded out by the breezy sounds of Dan Meunier and his steel drums.

Well over 100 kids enjoyed the festivities in the Kids Corner, which included a bounce castle, face painting, caricatures, balloons, crafts, games and more! We also had A LOT of people take a tour of our Haven 1 retirement apartment building.

Of course, the food was a big hit as well, but that goes without saying!

One part of the day that stood out was when Concordia President & CEO Keith Frndak recognized Rev. Reholma McCants and Andrew Korim at the end of the worship service. Rev. McCants was presented with a gift and flowers for his 30 years of service to Unity Lutheran Church and after-school program in Homewood – a program that Concordia has supported for many years now. Mr Korim was recognized for a major gift to Concordia that allowed for the creation of a new walking trail behind the pond on the Cabot campus. A number of Andrew’s family members have lived or been treated at Concordia over the years, and made a lasting impression on the organization.

Special thanks to everyone who came out or helped us spread the word, and especially to our 70+ volunteers! Below are some pictures from the event (click to enlarge).
