To celebrate, Concordia Lutheran Ministries will conduct an afternoon of presentations and screenings free to the public on Monday, September 23 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Haven 1 dining room on the Concordia at Cabot campus. Professionals will present brief discussions followed by screenings. Click here for Google Maps directions.

Presenters and topics include:

  • Jennifer Slanika, RPh from Providence Pharmacy: “Medications that Increase the Risk of Falls”
  • Concordia Medical Equipment CEO Brad Milliron: “Assistive Devices to Improve Safety”
  • Concordia Physical Therapist Jen Lesnett, DPT: “Preventing Falls in Your Home and Community”

Following presentations, mobility screenings will be conducted by Concordia physical therapists, starting at 2 p.m.

According to the National Council on Aging, “Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths, unintentional injuries, and hospital admissions for trauma. Falls can take a serious toll on older adults’ quality of life and independence. At the heart of this initiative is the message that falls are preventable.”
