Concordia at Cabot’s 2022 Live Nativity: An Evening in Bethlehem

Over 400 people attended Concordia at Cabot’s Annual Live Nativity on Sunday, Dec. 11 to experience an evening in Bethlehem with Mary, Joseph, shepherds, angels, wise men, live animals – and of course baby Jesus!

The entrance to our Nativity featured a beautiful luminary display that was donated and set up by the St. Luke Lutheran Church Youth Group, Rev. Brian Bocian and Jason, Tammy and Aleah Young – many thanks to this group for their creativity and hours of hard work.

Guests enjoyed three outdoor performances of the birth of Jesus, complete with live music and sing-a-longs – the event was even livestreamed on Concordia’s YouTube channel! The music continued between each show, with St. Luke Lutheran School 3rdand 4th graders, Redeemer Lutheran School grades 7-12 and the Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus playing, singing and leading Christmas carols. Every child who attended got a free gift and opportunity to visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and all the attendees enjoyed Christmas cookies and hot chocolate.

We had a lot of help planning this special event and couldn’t have done it without Concordia residents and staff members narrating, decorating and setting up, greeting guests, singing, acting and more! Special thanks to the Saxonburg Fire Police for traffic control; Haven II residents for hosting, including special efforts from Bud Sears and Gloria Walker; and all of the attendees for coming to enjoy this wonderful event. Also, a big thank you to our cast:

• Mary: Robin Peters

• Joseph: Rev. Adam Salinas

• Wise Men: Dave Gilkey, Chris Nagg, Chris Schroeder

• Shepherds/Shepherdesses: Todd McCurdy, Josh Reott, Liam Reott, Eastyn Reott, Dana Russo

• Angels: Emily Bitting-Jha, Stephanie Dietrich, Ann Krafick, Julie Ryan, Amelia Yates, Larissa Yates

• Villagers: Erica Hancock, Cindy Perri

• Narrator: Carol Shick

• Singers: Hope Rouda, Wendy Moore

• Elves: Amy Bailie, Tracey Pillart

May your Christmas be filled with joy, gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of God’s one and only son, Jesus Christ. We wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!
