Concordia Lutheran Ministries is blessed to announce the successful completion of its acquisition of six former SpiriTrust Lutheran communities, further expanding its faith-based mission into central Pennsylvania.
The communities will now be known as: Concordia at SpiriTrust Gettysburg in Gettysburg, Concordia at SpiriTrust Kelly Drive in York, Concordia at SpiriTrust Luther Ridge in Chambersburg, Concordia at SpiriTrust Shrewsbury in Shrewsbury, Concordia at SpiriTrust Sprenkle Drive in York, and Concordia at SpiriTrust Utz Terrace in Hanover.
These six life plan communities serve approximately 1,050 residents and are supported by more than 600 dedicated team members, offering a full continuum of care including independent/retirement living, personal care, memory support and skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. The organization’s origins date back to the early 1950s.
“We are incredibly grateful and humbled to officially welcome these six communities into the Concordia family,” said Concordia Lutheran Ministries President and CEO Keith Frndak. “This truly is a strong mission fit, and we are honored to build upon the rich Christian legacy that began within SpiriTrust Lutheran more than 70 years ago. These communities are supported by dedicated team members and vibrant resident populations, and we are committed to investing in their future through high-quality care, financial stability and meaningful enhancements. We are excited to serve York, Franklin and Adams Counties for many years to come.”
As part of the transition, Concordia plans to invest significant resources into the communities, including capital improvements, operational enhancements and expanded service offerings. The organization continues to host ongoing meetings with residents, families and team members to ensure a smooth and transparent transition.
In addition to enhancing services within the communities, Concordia will establish a strong regional presence for Concordia Home Health & Hospice, a new organization dedicated to providing comprehensive in-home health care and hospice services throughout central Pennsylvania. This expansion will further strengthen access to compassionate, faith-based care across the network.
Headquartered in Cabot, PA and founded in 1881, Concordia Lutheran Ministries is a faith-based Aging Services Network serving over 50,000 people annually through in-home care and inpatient locations. Throughout its system, Concordia offers adult day services, home health care, hospice, medical and rehabilitation services, memory care, personal care, assisted living, respite care, retirement living, skilled nursing/short-term rehab, spiritual care and medical equipment. Every year, Concordia provides subsidized care to hundreds of residents in its system who have outlived their resources.
Since 2009, Concordia has grown exponentially. Primarily in southwestern Pennsylvania, the organization has worked to expand its faith-based mission and become a “Christian consolidator” in the industry, to protect and preserve organizations with Christian roots and to aid in the long-term support of Christian health care ministries.
