Concordia Lutheran Ministries is blessed to announce the successful completion of its acquisition of Heritage Valley Health System Senior Living, further expanding its faith-based mission in Allegheny County.
The community will now be known as Concordia at Kennedy and expects to serve approximately 150 residents annually, supported by 60+ dedicated team members. It offers a broad network of care, including retirement living, personal care and memory care.
“Concordia has a strong, longstanding relationship with Heritage Valley Health System, and we are grateful for the opportunity to welcome this community into the Concordia family and continue providing the care and support that residents, patients and families already value,” said Concordia Lutheran Ministries President and CEO Keith Frndak. “There is a strong foundation here, and we look forward to working alongside the team to continue providing a dependable, compassionate environment for those who call this campus home. It’s a privilege to serve the Kennedy Township area, and we’re committed to supporting the residents, staff and community for years to come.”
Heritage Valley Health System President and CEO Norm Mitry said, “As healthcare continues to evolve and become more specialized, Heritage Valley Health System is pleased to transition its Senior Living Community on Heckel Road to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, a trusted provider that will continue offering exceptional specialized services to meet the community’s needs.”
As part of the transition, Concordia plans to invest significant resources into the community for capital improvements and operational enhancements. The organization will also host ongoing meetings with residents, families and team members to ensure a smooth and transparent transition.
Headquartered in Cabot, PA and founded in 1881, Concordia Lutheran Ministries is a faith-based Aging Services Network serving over 50,000 people annually through in-home care and inpatient locations. Throughout its system, Concordia offers adult day services, home health care, hospice, medical and rehabilitation services, memory care, personal care, assisted living, respite care, retirement living, skilled nursing/short-term rehab, spiritual care and medical equipment. Every year, Concordia provides subsidized care to hundreds of residents in its system who have outlived their resources.
Since 2009, Concordia has experienced significant growth. Primarily in southwestern Pennsylvania, the organization has worked to expand its faith-based mission and become a “Christian consolidator” in the industry, to protect and preserve organizations with Christian roots and to aid in the long-term support of Christian health care ministries.
