A National Home Care & Hospice Month Video Message (2017)

Every November, Concordia Visiting Nurses, Concordia Private Care, Good Samaritan Hospice, VNA Alliance and Concordia Hospice of Washington honor their dedicated team during National Home Care & Hospice/Palliative Month.

The nurses, therapists, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff who have chosen a career in home care, hospice, and palliative are truly remarkable and deserve the highest praise for their tireless efforts. Most days are exhaustive and wrought with heavy emotion for the patients and the family members they are caring for. The weight carried by these exceptional caregivers can be overwhelming, but day in and day out they show up ready to serve God’s people. Their perseverance and commitment to serve their communities with respect, dignity, and compassion is an exemplary display of selflessness.

Selfless, compassionate, and committed are just a few of the many great qualities that define a caregiver. We all owe the exceptional caregivers, clinicians, and hospice workers in our lives the greatest admiration –  the work that they do is nothing short of amazing.
